Lighting

It is a crucial factor in healthy buildings. It consists of natural and artificial lighting. Access to and requirements for both light sources are defined in standards and regulations. When designing a new building or modernizing an existing one, the guidelines arising from these standards should be taken into account.

The basic criteria taken into account during design are:

• analysis of sunlight and shading,
• occlusion analysis,
• analysis of the daylight factor (DF)

An additional criterion is the intensity of lighting, depending on the purpose of specific rooms.
